With Cheltenham’s infamous horse racing festival starting this week we thought we would touch on how we support the horse racing season as well as other sporting events, large and small, across the UK throughout the year.

During short events of 3-5 days, it is imperative that everything runs smoothly as there is no margin for error. Spectators attend in their droves from the moment the festivals start and the days are sold out until the very last hour, so we know the pressure on the suppliers within the grounds is huge. We are experts at offering an ideal solution to external storage and thoroughly enjoy taking some of that pressure from those suppliers.

Alongside horse racing, we also supply to many other large scale sporting events such as Wimbledon. Wimbledon is regarded as one of the biggest sporting events on the calendar and there is a huge amount of planning which goes into it each year.

We will attend the site months before the event to survey the site, agree on access points and liaise with the operations staff to advise the best and safest way to get the containers on site. There is often an element of skating the containers underground and into place which takes great skill from our haulage partners and detailed planning. Once the containers are on site and the tennis starts we can then enjoy seeing the strawberries and champagne in the hands of spectators which have been chilled in our units!
