We will all have an opinion on how as a nation we should proceed, for example, whether to wear a mask or
not in public. In this situation, it is a personal choice, but we all need to respect each other’s opinion,
no one is right or wrong.
During this first week of ‘freedom’, a new buzzword has become common, which relates to the NHS COVID
app and when it pings a user to notify them that they have come into close contact with someone who has
tested positive for COVID and therefore they should self-isolate.
However, just being notified by the app doesn’t mean you have to legally self-isolate. Common sense is
required though if you choose not to self-isolate, by being more conscious about where you go, how close
you get to someone else and wearing a mask at all times. It is only when you have been directly contacted
by NHS Track & Trace that you legally have to self-isolate for 10 days.
As the ‘Pingdemic’ crosses the UK affecting workforces in different industries, the ability to provide
goods/services will be stretched. One of those industries is the Supply Chain, with driver shortages already
known within the industry, to now having workers off isolating because of being pinged, thus affecting
resources to deliver goods.
During this time what we cannot do as a nation is go back to stockpiling groceries/goods just because it
is being reported in the news that deliveries are being missed or late causing shortages. It isn’t widespread
because the supply chains are working very hard to reduce these delays, so if we keep to our normal shopping
habits there will be products available.

support their operations by supplying Temperature Controlled Storage containers to hold their stock before
it gets delivered.
