We are currently experiencing a strange period in the UK, with the country more or less in hibernation. However, it has been well publicised in recent weeks that applications for agricultural roles have increased by as much as 83% month on month. Roles like ‘fruit picker’ or ‘farm worker’ have seen interest increase by as much as a third or double respectively.
With Britain needing a new army of land workers to get the fresh produced picked and packed, is there a risk that there isn’t enough storage capacity for all this produce? Crops such as Asparagus, Cabbage, Peas and Tomatoes are due to be harvested over the next few months. However, where will these crops be stored to keep them fresh for the British consumer?
